A delegation led by Mr. Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Azerbaijan left for the city of Turkustan in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Within the frame of the trip basing on the invitation by Mr. Nurlan Abdirov, Chairman of Kazakhstan Central Election Commission, the CEC delegation of Azerbaijan will participate in the signing ceremony of the foundation document of the Advisory Platform of the Supreme Electoral Bodies of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS). The foregoing document is intended to foster deeper relations among the electoral management bodies of the OTS member states and to facilitate mutually beneficial cooperation through the exchange of experience.

During their visit to Kazakhstan, the delegation of the Central Election Commission will also participate in the international conference titled “Turkic World: Traditions, Experience and Prospects for the Development of Electoral Systems”.

The delegation includes Mr. Rovzat Gasimov, Deputy Chairman and Mr. Hasan Kazimzadeh, Deputy Head of the Secretariat of the Commission.

During their visit, the delegation is also planned to hold meetings with the heads of the supreme election bodies of the member states to the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), as well as with other officials and exchange views on inter-agency cooperation and other matters of mutual interest.
