Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of Central Election Commission met with Chairman of Central Election Commission of Georgia


The delegation led by Mrs. Tamar Zhvania, Chairperson of the Central Election Commission of Georgia, who are on official trip to the country to observe the Municipal Elections in the Republic of Azerbaijan met with Mr. Mazahir Panahov, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) on December 22, 2019.

Having greeted the Georgian colleague Mrs. Tamar Zhvania and the delegation led by her, CEC Chairman Mr. Mazahir Panahov expressed his gratitude of the close partnership between the supreme election bodies of the two countries that are being strengthened. Meanwhile, the Chairman also emphasized on the important role of inter-organizations relationship and mutual exchange of experience in the development of the election practice and electoral system.

Mrs. T.Zhvania, Chairperson of Georgian CEC thanked for the invitation to observe the elections and friendly welcome and expressed her pleasure of visiting the Central Election Commission in the country. CEC Chairman Mr. Mazahir Panahov who spoke about the preparations for the Municipal Elections informed that the Azerbaijani electorate are fully facilitated to visit the polling stations to express their will independently and freely on December 23, 2019.

During the meeting the exchange of views was held on the issues on the perspectives of developing the inter-organizations cooperation further and issues of mutual interest.
